Payroll Function
Superside is looking for a committed, data-driven Accountant & Payroll Associate to join our fast-scaling entity and growing Finance department. As a valuable core team member, you’ll support operational objectives through monthly payroll calculations and reporting.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant & Payroll Associate will play an integral part in Superside’s payroll function.
You’ll be involved in certain operational aspects of payroll payment allocations, working with different systems and calculating various payment schemes. This means you will have a lot of exposure and opportunities to learn and grow within the role.
What you'll be doing
- Perform monthly payroll model and department allocations transactions
- Communicate with the People Team regarding staff members
- Maintain the Payroll Database, prepare KPI Data and work on Ad Hoc Finance projects
- Assist with month-end close procedures, payments allocations, bank reconciliation, and journal preparation
- Update and maintain hiring plans for hiring managers
- Maintain effective financial controls and reporting structures
- Contribute to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
- Act as the first point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries from other departments
Our biggest challenges right now
We are a rapidly-growing entity operating in a fast-paced environment. We don't have a structured, automated system and we're still building and improving our processes. On top of that, we’ve recently started implementing the Netsuite accounting platform. This means we have a significant volume of data and we don’t have all the answers. This is why we need someone willing to be out of their comfort zone, learn various financial tools and reports, and stay committed to where we want to go.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Newly qualified CA or equivalent finance qualification
- Experience with Excel, GoogleSheet and advanced formulae
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries & supporting monthly financial reporting processes
- Experience executing payroll advantages
- Ability to work within a team in a remote working environment
- Confidence in communicating new skills and procedures to increase efficiency in the payroll and operational analysis process
- Capacity to perform detailed Excel calculations
- Understanding of the accounting consequence of set calculations, with the ability to translate them to relevant departments
- An operational-focused and data-driven mindset with a willingness to take ownership of the role and learn continuously
